Saint Ann School ExtraCare

Saint Ann School offers extended care beginning at 7:00 AM and after school until 6:00 PM. It is our attempt to accommodate the long hours of hard-working parents.

During the hours in ExtraCare, children have a snack, play outside and participate in special activities. A list of activities is sent home and posted on bulletin boards in Neidert Hall. The special activities range from arts to sports and science; there is a generous offering of both structured and unstructured activities.

We strive to make ExtraCare a positive and fun experience for the children rather than an extension of the academic school day that may feel like an extra burden. Our extended care staff members are warm and loving adults who love working with children; they understand that it is often difficult for children to spend so many hours at school, and therefore, give the children a lot of extra care and attention.

Extended Care Staff

Ryan O'Hara is new as the Director of the ExtraCare program and is the teacher in the afternoon program for the 5th - 8th grades. He attended Saint Henry Elementary School and Father Ryan High School. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Middle Tennessee State University. Prior to becoming a member of the staff at Saint Ann, he subbed for multiple schools in the area including Saint Ann and spent time at a summer camp and helped coach baseball and coached basketball at Franklin Christian Academy.

Sandy Robinson is the teacher for the morning program. He not only has been working for Saint Ann BeforeCare for the last 3 years, but he also has 2 children who attend the school. Many parents are grateful he is able to come so early so they can make their early schedules! Almost all the students who come in the morning would argue that it's for Mr. Sandy's infamous dodge ball game!

Colleen Simmons is the teacher in the afternoon program for the kindergarten - 1st grades. Ms. Colleen has been working for the ExtraCare program for the past 3 years. She is currently working on her degree in childhood development. She is a wonderful asset to the program because of her dependability, consistency, and love of her students! If you ask any of her students or former students they'll tell you, "We love Mrs. Colleen!"

Mary Derrick is the teacher in the afternoon program for 2nd - 4th grades. She is a new addition to the ExtraCare program this year. We are so glad to have her here! She comes from a large family so she knows her way around a big group of kids! We are very lucky to have found someone who fits into our program so perfectly!

Full and Part time available

Notices, changes and cancellations: all messages must be written or by phone. A two weeks notice for any changes especially withdrawals must be given.
